Common use of OUT-OF-RANK ASSIGNMENTS Clause in Contracts

OUT-OF-RANK ASSIGNMENTS. Out-of-rank assignments shall be governed by the Fresno County Salary Resolution, Section 400, Subsection 413.9, Special Salary Upgrading. Nothing in this article shall be construed as limiting Management’s authority to make temporary assignments for the purposes of vacation relief or meeting emergencies; however, emergency assignments shall not extend beyond a period of such emergencies. Any Deputy Sheriff I – Court Services, II, III, or Community Service Officer temporarily assigned as a “training officer” by Sheriff’s Management to orient new personnel while on initial probationary period or when reassigned to a different work unit shall be compensated an additional five percent (5%) of base salary for actual hours worked as a “training officer”. Deputy Sheriff IVs shall not be eligible for this differential since this type of assignment is considered a part of routine job duties. Communication Dispatcher I/II/IIIs who are assigned by the Sheriff-Coroner to train newly hired dispatchers shall be paid, in addition to their base compensation, thirty-five and no/100 dollars ($35.00) per pay period for the duration of said training assignment. Communication Dispatcher I/II/IIIs shall only be used by the Sheriff-Coroner to train new hires when there are no qualified Communication Dispatcher Specialists on a given watch who can assume the training responsibilities.
