Outside Professional Development. The Employer supports the professional development of its teachers and staff. To that end, the Employer will offer at least $250 for Teaching and Student Services Staff Bargaining Unit Members to attend approved outside professional development per year and up to $250 for Support Staff and Non-Instructional Staff to attend approved outside professional development per year. Bargaining Unit Members may apply for additional funding for approved professional development.

Outside Professional Development. Bargaining unit members shall be permitted up to two (2) paid professional development days to attend meetings, conferences, and other educational sessions that provide training and ideas helpful to the development or operation of the schools. Employees must get approval by the Principal at least one week in advance of the proposed professional development. The employer will pay costs associated with the outside professional development up to $250. Paid professional development days are a gift from EPIC Academy, and are not to be treated as wages. Professional development days do not accrue and cannot be carried over from year to year. EPIC Academy will not pay for unused professional development days.
Outside Professional Development. Namaste supports the professional development of its teachers and staff. To that end, Namaste will offer up to $500 for teaching Bargaining Unit Members to attend approved outside professional development per year and up to $250 for paraprofessionals and office staff to attend approved outside professional development per year.
Outside Professional Development. The District recognizes the widespread 16 availability of professional development opportunities offered by organizations 17 outside of the District and will honor its commitment to support education 18 professionals as life-long learners. Outside Professional Development. The parties acknowledge the value of professional development of Adjunct Faculty in the pursuit of academic excellence, quality teaching, and service to the students and the community. Professional development activities will enhance Adjunct Faculty Members as teachers, scholars, leaders, and practitioners; Adjunct Faculty Members may submit requests for professional development activities that occur during any academic year in which they teach at least three (3) hours which shall not be unduly denied. Ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) per fiscal year will be budgeted for the professional development of Adjuncts per semester, effective the Spring 2019 semester. Any unused monies in the Fall Semester will be carried over to the Spring Semester. The monies budgeted in this section do not include tuition reimbursement or training provided by the College (such as Adjunct Faculty seminars).

To that end, when approved by the designated Administrator, the Employer will endeavor to offer up to $250 for Teaching and Student Services Staff Bargaining Unit Members to attend pre-approved outside professional development per year and up to $150 for Support Staff and Non-Instructional Staff to attend approved outside professional development per year. Bargaining unit members who are given this leave and PD reimbursement set forth in this paragraph to attend outside professional development may be required to informally share the information with their department peers upon Administration request. The Employer may request and encourage the bargaining unit member to formally share the information as a Guest Presenter for professional development, which shall be voluntary on the part of the member and in which case the bargaining unit member shall be compensated as described in Article 42, Academic Stipends.

  • Professional Development 9.01 Continuous professional development is a hallmark of professional nursing practice. As a self-regulating profession, nursing recognizes the importance of maintaining a dynamic practice environment which includes ongoing learning, the maintenance of competence, career development, career counselling and succession planning. The parties agree that professional development includes a diverse range of activities, including but not limited to formal academic programs; short-term continuing education activities; certification programs; independent learning committee participation. The parties recognize their joint responsibility in and commitment to active participation in the area of professional development.

  • Continuing Professional Development 30.1.7 If, during the life of the Agreement, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is introduced for plumbers, all time spent in complying with the CPD obligations will be the responsibility of each plumber.

  • Professional Development Program (a) The parties agree to continue a Professional Development Program for the maintenance and development of the faculty members' professional competence and effectiveness. It is agreed that maintenance of currency of subject knowledge, the improvement of performance of faculty duties, and the maintenance and improvement of professional competence, including instructional skills, are the primary professional development activities of faculty members.

On April 1st of each year, the College will allocate an amount equal to no less than 0.9% of total faculty salary (exclusive of severance payments) to the Professional Development Support Fund, and an amount equal to no less than 0.6% of total faculty salary to the Educational Leave Fund.
