PARTNERING ETHOS. 3.1 The Partners acknowledge that the County is entering into the PFI Contract to enable it to meet its statutory obligations, assist the Districts in meeting theirs and in the overall interests of the public purse. To these ends, the Partners shall work together to achieve Statutory Targets, landfill permit levels and local targets agreed jointly in the Joint Municipal Waste Management Strategy or any future targets that have been jointly agreed, and as far as is reasonable or practicable, to reduce the detrimental impact on the Partners and council tax payers of any one of them failing to carry out its obligations under this Agreement.
