Payoff When There is No Retirement. 1. An employee leaving County service after ten (10) years of continuous service, who elects not to receive retirement benefits, shall receive payment representing fifty percent (50%) of his/her accumulated and unused Sick Leave computed on the basis of employee's salary at termination of employment, except as hereinafter provided. Employees hired on or after January 1, 1974, will be ineligible for and will not receive the fifty percent (50%) payment specified in this paragraph.
