Common use of PERS HEALTH INSURANCE BENEFITS Clause in Contracts

PERS HEALTH INSURANCE BENEFITS. Upon reasonable advance notice to the Association, the City shall have the option of either contracting with the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) Health Benefits Division for health insurance or contracting directly with some or all of the providers of health insurance under the PERS program; provided, however, contracting directly with the providers shall not cause any material reduction in insurance benefits for active or retired employees from those benefits available under the PERS program; and provided further such contracting shall not cause a material increase in premiums for either the City or the employees. There shall be no requirement for the City to meet and confer upon the City’s exercising the option described above in accordance with the provisions of this paragraph.
