Common use of Physical Fitness Assessment Clause in Contracts

Physical Fitness Assessment. Employees are required to maintain the level of physical fitness/wellness expressed in the Fire Department’s physical fitness program. An employee who is unable to pass the physical performance evaluation will enter a physical performance evaluation of up to four (4) weeks at the end of which the employee’s physical performance will be re-evaluated. An employee who fails the physical performance evaluation at the end of the rehabilitation period (4 weeks), or who is unable to meet the medical evaluation requirements of NFPA 1582 will not be permitted to engage in fire suppression activities.
