Common use of Policy of the State of Georgia Clause in Contracts

Policy of the State of Georgia. It is the policy of the State of Georgia that minority business enterprises shall have the maximum opportunity to participate in the State purchasing process. Therefore, the State of Georgia encourages all minority business enterprises to compete for, win, and receive Contracts for goods, services, and construction. In addition, the State encourages all companies to sub-contract portions of any State Contract to minority business enterprises. It is the wish of the Owner that minority businesses be given the opportunity to propose on the various parts of the Work. This desire on the part of the Owner is not intended to restrict or limit competitive selection or to increase the cost of the Work. The Owner supports a healthy free market system that seeks to include responsible businesses and provides ample opportunity for business growth and development.
