Common use of Political Activities Clause in Contracts

Political Activities. (a) Employees shall not use District funds, services, supplies or equipment to urge the passage or defeat of any ballot measure or candidate, including but not limited to, any candidate for election to the District's Board of Trustees. This policy prohibits political activity during an employee's working hours, but shall not be construed to prohibit an employee from urging the support or defeat of a ballot measure or candidate during non-working time. This prohibition does not pertain to the Local's office that is maintained at the College. (b) The following activities by an employee upon property under the jurisdiction of the District are specifically prohibited: (1) Posting of political circulars or petitions except on that portion of designated College and Union bulletin boards set aside for that purpose. (2) Use of the College mail and e-mail systems for the distribution of political material. (c) Violation of any of the foregoing rules may result in disciplinary action.
