Common use of Political and Sectarian Activity Prohibited Clause in Contracts

Political and Sectarian Activity Prohibited. None of the funds, materials, property or services provided directly or indirectly under this Agreement shall be used for any partisan political activity, or to further the election or defeat of any candidate for public office. Neither shall any funds provided under this Agreement be used for any purpose designed to support or defeat any pending legislation or administrative regulation. None of the funds provided pursuant to this Agreement shall be used for any sectarian purpose or to support or benefit any sectarian activity. If this Agreement provides for more than $100,000 in grant funds or more than $150,000 in loan funds, SUB-RECIPIENT shall submit to the CITY a Certification Regarding Lobbying and a Disclosure Form, if required, in accordance with 31 USC §1352. A copy of the Certificate is attached hereto as Exhibit B. No funds will be released to SUB-RECIPIENT until the Certification is filed. SUB-RECIPIENT shall file a Disclosure Form at the end of each calendar quarter in which there occurs any event requiring disclosure or which materially affects the accuracy of any of the information contained in any Disclosure Form previously filed by SUB- RECIPIENT. SUB-RECIPIENT shall require that the language of this Certification be included in the award documents for all sub-awards at all tiers and that all subcontractors shall certify and disclose accordingly.
