Common use of Pressing Necessity Leave Clause in Contracts

Pressing Necessity Leave. Leave of absence with pay chargeable to an employee’s sick leave credits shall be granted for the purpose of attending to an emergent situation which is unforeseen and requires their immediate attention. This shall include emergent and unforeseen situations which require the employee to attend to their spouse, child or parent. Pressing necessity leave is to be utilized for a maximum of one (1) day per occurrence. Further time off by the employee to attend to the situation is considered at their discretion and will be taken as vacation, time in lieu, General Leave of Absence, or any applicable leave as directed by policy.
