Private Sector. 1. Contracting Parties agree to promote the involvement of the private sector in their cooperation programmes in order to strengthen economic and industrial cooperation between themselves. The Contracting Parties shall take measures to: (a) encourage the private sectors of both geographical regions to find effective ways of joint consultations, results of which could then be transmitted to the Joint Commission, referred to in Article 20 of this Agreement, for the required follow-up action; (b) involve the private sectors of the Contracting Parties in activities developed within the framework of this Agreement. 2. The Contracting Parties shall facilitate within the relevant rules, access to available information and capital facilities in order to encourage projects and operations promoting cooperation between firms, such as joint ventures, sub-contracting transfer of technology, licences, applied research and franchises.
