Probationary Unit Members. The Executive Director/CEO or designee may release or discipline a unit member during the unit member’s probationary period without cause, and such decisions shall not be subject to the grievance procedure in this Agreement.
Probationary Unit Members. A probationary unit member returning from parental or military leave will retain the status (Probationary I/Probationary II or Permanent) he/she had earned prior to the leave of absence.

Probationary Unit Members. 1. A written evaluation shall be made by the unit member’s direct supervisor during the third, sixth and twelfth months of probationary service. Time spent on leave of absence shall not count toward the probationary period. 16.1.3 A permanent unit member promoted to a higher classification will serve a six-month probationary period in the higher class. If a unit member fails to satisfactorily complete promotional probation, the unit member shall be reassigned to the position occupied by the least senior unit member with the same number of hours in the classification held by the unit member at the time of promotion if a position in the previously-held classification with the same number of hours still exists. In the event that the hours of the previously held position have been reduced, the unit member being reassigned shall not be entitled to have the hours increased. The promoted unit member has the option to return to the former position at any time up to the end of the first 10 workdays of the new position. 16.1.4 Before the last day of the probationary period, the District will notify the probationary unit member of the unit member’s failure to satisfactorily complete probation. Unless the probationary unit member has been accused of “stigmatizing” misconduct, the probationary unit member shall have no right to a hearing and no appeal rights.

The promoted unit member has the option to return to the former position at any time up to the end of the first 10 workdays of the new position. 16.1.4 Before the last day of the probationary period or extension of the probationary period, the District will notify the probationary unit member of the unit member’s failure to satisfactorily complete probation. Probationary Unit Members. 8.1.1 Newly employed unit members shall serve a probationary period of six (6) months or one hundred thirty (130) working days, whichever is longer, including any summer work in the same job classification. 8.1.2 Probationary unit members shall be evaluated prior to the end of the second and fifth month. However, if anytime during the probationary period any items on the evaluation instrument are rated unsatisfactory, then the unit member may be evaluated every month during the remainder of the probationary period. Evaluation results may, but need not, determine the granting or denial of permanent status, and no explanation need be given to a unit member denied permanency.
