The Administration will, whenever financial resources allow, endeavor to provide upon application and approval of the building principal the necessary funds for teachers who desire to attend professional conferences. Travel, meals, lodging and registration fees shall be deemed reasonable expenses of the Board as well as the cost of a substitute teacher if needed to relieve the teacher attending such conference. B. In-service days for all certified personnel-conferences, workshops and visitations: The curriculum study areas, i.e. language arts, mathematics, etc., are not to be included in the following guidelines for workshops, conferences, or visitations. This guideline will not cover conferences, workshops or visitations for Counselors, Librarians, Title I personnel or Special Education personnel. Since some of the above-mentioned areas are not included in the regular curriculum studies, these areas will be provided with additional time for conferences, workshops or visitations. Teachers interested in attending conferences, workshops or visitations will be expected to meet with their principals early each school year to clear requests. Final considerations must be considered each and every year as to the number of conferences, workshops and visitations that will be possible under this guideline.
