Common use of Professor (tenured) Clause in Contracts

Professor (tenured). The University may initially appoint an individual as a Professor. However, no faculty member may hold the title of Professor who is not tenured. Therefore, an individual hired into the unit with the proposed title of Professor will be reviewed for tenure prior to the start of his/her employment.
