Assistant Professor. An Assistant Professor is a member of a Faculty of the University who shall ordinarily have the following minimum qualifications:
(a) A doctoral degree;
(b) Aptitude for teaching university students. The doctoral requirement may be waived if the Candidate has a record of suitable teaching, scholarship as defined in Article 1.1(n); or, in lieu of such a record, has professional qualifications and experience to enable him/her to make an appropriate academic contribution to the University.
Assistant Professor. Vocational Credential, Master’s Degree, and 2 years experience Vocational Credential, Bachelor’s Degree and 4 years experience Vocational Credential, Associate Degree, and 8 years experience Vocational Credential and 12 years experience
Assistant Professor. An Assistant Professor shall be offered a contract for one academic year subject to termination procedures specified in this Agreement and to the procedures for tenure review set forth below. An Assistant Professor may be offered subsequent annual contracts as specified below. The cumulative years of appointment in the ranks of Instructor and Assistant Professor shall not exceed seven, except as specified in the tenure section below.
Assistant Professor. Appointment or promotion to the rank of assistant professor shall be based on evidence indicating promise of teaching performance of a high order of effectiveness and professional growth and achievement, including the ability to conduct valuable research.
Assistant Professor. An earned doctorate from an accredited institution or other terminal qualifications appropriate to the position as stipulated in the departmental bylaws, subject to the review and approval of the appropriate xxxx and the PVPAA. Exceptions may be made because of unusual scholarly achievements or unusual professional service achievements. Associate Professor: An earned doctorate from an accredited institution or other terminal qualifications appropriate to the position as stipulated in the departmental bylaws, subject to the review and approval of the appropriate xxxx and the PVPAA; normally five (5) years of full-time higher education experience at the rank of Instructor or above, completed prior to application for the Associate Professor rank; compliance with the provisions of Section 5.4. Exceptions may be made because of unusual scholarly achievements or unusual professional service achievements Professor: An earned doctorate from an accredited institution or other terminal qualifications for the position as stipulated in the departmental bylaws, subject to the review and approval of the appropriate xxxx and the PVPAA; normally, eleven (11) years of full-time higher education experience at the rank of Instructor or above, or five (5) years of full-time higher education experience at the rank of associate professor or above; completed prior to application for the Professor rank; compliance with the provisions of Section 5.4. Exceptions may be made because of unusual scholarly achievements or unusual professional service achievements.
Assistant Professor. The qualifications for promotion to Assistant Professor shall be possession of an earned doctorate or its equivalent as specified in Article 12.83 (a). According to whether all degree requirements are successfully completed before or after 31 December, such promotion shall become effective either the previous 1 July or the following 1 July.
Assistant Professor. The following criteria are normally required of those faculty who would be appointed at the rank of Assistant Professor.
1. Earned the appropriate terminal degree from an accredited university, or have a Master’s Degree or equivalent and five
Assistant Professor a) Doctor's degree in subject field; or master's degree in subject field, plus at least fifteen (15) graduate hours beyond the master's degree in the subject field and five (5) years professional experience, or
b) For faculty teaching career/occupational courses: A bachelor's degree plus five (5) years experience in the field plus five (5) years in teaching experience; or bachelor's degree plus at least ten (10) years experience in the field.
Assistant Professor. 17.3.1 “Assistant Professors” have the following qualifications:
17.3.1.1 Advanced degree in the relevant discipline. Exceptions may be considered on the basis of outstanding career achievement on the recommendation of the hiring committee;
17.3.1.2 Minimum of 2 years relevant teaching experience at the post- secondary level (or equivalent); and
17.3.1.3 Relevant professional practice/experience.
Assistant Professor. A person appointed to this rank shall possess the Doctorate degree, or the Master’s degree and three years of University teaching experience, or the Master’s degree and related professional experience.
