Professor. Vocational Credential, Master’s Degree, and 14 years experience Vocational Credential, Bachelor’s Degree, and 16 years experience
Professor. The following criteria are normally required of those faculty who would be appointed at the rank of Professor.
1. Hold an appropriate terminal degree.
2. Demonstrated leadership in teaching.
3. Demonstrated substantial record of scholarship.
4. Demonstrated leadership in service to the College, and University.
5. Demonstrated leadership in service to the community, region, or State.
6. Generally, have at least twelve years of college-level teaching or professional experience.
Professor. (a) Professional Preparation: The Doctorate or equivalent, normally in the area of specialization, is required.
Professor. 17.5.1 In addition to Associate Professor qualifications, “Professors” must have the following:
17.5.1.1 Exceptional and sustained background in teaching and professional practice/scholarly activity; and
17.5.1.2 Major regional, national and/or international recognition.
17.5.2 Length of service neither automatically entitles a faculty member to, nor excludes a faculty member from, the Rank of Professor.
Professor. Associate Professor qualifications (as above); and • an outstanding and sustained record in teaching and professional practice and/or scholarly activity; and • major regional, national or scholarly recognition. Length of service shall neither automatically entitle nor exclude a Faculty Member for consideration for the rank of Professor.
Professor. Employment in the rank of professor shall be with tenure from the date of a faculty member's employment in that rank.
Professor. Any person employed by the College to dispense teaching.
Professor. An employee with a tenured, probationary, adjunct, or associate faculty appointment.
Professor a) Appointment at or promotion to the rank of Professor is reserved for those whose contributions (judged by the criteria as set out in Article 4) are considered outstanding.
b) These persons will have met appropriate standards of excellence and have wide recognition in the field of their interest. They must have shown high quality in teaching and sustained and productive scholarly activity, have attained distinction in their discipline, and have participated significantly in academic and professional affairs. Promotion to this rank is neither automatic nor based on years of service and it is expected that some persons will not attain this rank.
c) Initial appointments at this rank may be term appointments or tenured appointments. Renewal of a term appointments will normally be made without term.
Professor. Appointment or promotion to the rank of professor is based on evidence of sustained excellence in teaching. In addition, the candidate shall either:
(a) have an outstanding record as a scholar or creative artist, or
(b) shall demonstrate sustained outstanding intellectual leadership in his or her field. Evidence of reputation in the discipline or a related discipline beyond the local community is required. In rare instances, promotion to the rank of professor may be based in significant part upon sustained and generally acclaimed leadership in the realization of the mission of the University. The evaluation shall be made in accordance with the standards set forth in Article 12.14 of this Agreement.
