Common use of Promotion Eligibility Clause in Contracts

Promotion Eligibility. Promotion eligibility shall be determined on the basis of seniority and minimum qualifications to perform the job. The senior applicant for a promotion shall be given a screening interview to determine whether or not minimum qualifications are met. That interview may include various exercises which are appropriate to the position sought. The applicant shall be invited to address each requirement of the Job Posting. Should the applicant be judged unqualified, a review meeting may be scheduled between the supervisor, applicant, shop ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and/or Union representative. If informal discussions do not resolve the issue, the applicant may file a grievance. Applicants will be given notification of qualification for the position within three (3) business days after completion of the interview.
