Promotion via Reclassification Without Examination. Notwithstanding other provisions of this Section, an employee may be promoted from one classification to a higher classification and his/her position reclassified at the request of the appointing authority and under the following conditions: A. An evaluation of the position(s) in question must show that the duties and responsibilities have significantly increased and constitute a higher level of work. B. The incumbent of the position must have performed at the higher level for one (1) year. C. The incumbent must meet the minimum education and experience requirements for the higher class. D. The action must have approval of the Director of Human Resources. E. The Union approves such action. The appropriate rules regarding probationary status and salary on promotion are applicable.
