Common use of PROMOTIONAL POSTING REQUIREMENTS Clause in Contracts

PROMOTIONAL POSTING REQUIREMENTS. (a) Postings for all promotions shall not be less than thirty (30) days and not more than sixty (60) days. (b) The promotional process will be completed within thirty (30) days of the closing date of the posting and the first promotion will take place within ninety (90) days of the closing date of the posting. (c) Postings shall include the reference material (not exceeding four (4) sources) listing the chapters that the written examination questions will be taken from. Up to ten percent (10%) of the total xxxx on the written examination may be based on general knowledge. All reference material must be available at all fire stations where there are full-time personnel. (d) The posting shall also include the practical examination topics, not exceeding two (2), for the purpose of a presentation and or ‘table top’ exercise. (e) The cut off for the calculation of seniority and service points shall be based on the date in which the vacancy will or has occurred (i.e. retirement date). For the purpose of the Acting Captain process the cut off for the calculation of seniority will be calculated as per the date of the posting.
