Public Holidays - Senior Medical Officers. 11.17.1 A SMO (other than a casual) who would normally work on a day on which a public holiday falls and who is not required to work on that day shall be paid for the ordinary hours the employee would normally have worked if that day had not been a public holiday. 11.17.2 All time worked on a public holiday will attract a loading of 116% in addition to payment under Clause 11.17.1. 11.17.3 Where a public holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday for the majority of the shift, the higher rate payable applies.
