Common use of Public Leave of Office Clause in Contracts

Public Leave of Office. An employee of the Company elected or appointed to a full time Federal, Provincial or local Public office shall be granted a leave of absence by the Company. Such leaves shall remain in effect for the term of office. Additional leaves of absence for service in such office shall be granted upon written application by the employee. Employees who are granted a leave of absence under the above sentence shall continue to accrue seniority and any pension rights during said leave.
