Common use of Public Sector General Wage Increase Clause in Contracts

Public Sector General Wage Increase. (1) If a public sector employer as defined in s. 1 of the Public Sector Employers Act enters into a collective agreement with an effective date after December 31, 2018 and the first three years of the collective agreement includes a cumulative nominal (not compounded) general wage increase of more than 6%, the general wage increase in the 2019-2022 collective agreement will be adjusted on the third anniversary of the 2019-2022 collective agreement so the cumulative nominal (not compounded) general wage increases are equivalent. This letter of understanding is not triggered by any general wage increase awarded as a result of binding interest arbitration.
