Common use of Receipt confirming complaint received Clause in Contracts

Receipt confirming complaint received. The City will require that within seven business days of receipt of a police misconduct complaint or concern, the City investigating entity will notify, in writing, non-anonymous complainants that it has received the complaint or concern. The written notification will include the tracking number or barcode originally assigned to the complaint that the complainant may use to track the status of their complaint online from the intake process through final disposition, to the extent permissible under law. The letter will also include contact information for the investigator if one has been assigned within seven days. The notice will not contain any language that could reasonably be construed as discouraging participating in the investigation. This does not prevent the City investigating entity from requiring a complainant to agree that what they share is truthful and accurate to the best of their ability or from providing a reasonable amount of time to contact the investigator and complete an interview.
