TECHNOLOGICAL CHANGES 18.07.01 The intent and purpose of the following Articles is to ensure that ample consideration is given to the effect technological change will have upon the job security and conditions of employment of employees as well as the continuing effectiveness of the Company.
TECHNOLOGICAL CHANGE During the term of this Agreement any disputes arising in relation to adjustment to technological change shall be discussed between the Bargaining Representatives of the two parties to this Collective Agreement.
Notice of Technological Change (a) For the purpose of technological change, the Employer agrees to provide the Union with as much notice as possible, but in any event not less than sixty (60) days notice of a technological change.

Workforce Development MPC’s technical training program is having a major impact in the region. Online modules, short courses, webinars, and on site/videoconferencing events are reaching state and local transportation department employees and tribal transportation planners. By harnessing the capabilities of the four LTAP centers located at the MPC universities and the multimedia capabilities of the Transportation Learning Network (which was founded and is partly funded by MPC) more than 76 technical training events were offered in the second half of 2015. These training modules and short courses are critical to transportation agencies that need to improve or renew the skills of engineering technicians and other frontline workers. Many MPC courses or training events result in the certification of workers. Even when certification is not required, TLN’s online learning management systems allow employees and employers to set learning goals and monitor progress towards these goals. MPC is making another major impact in workforce development. Altogether, 57 graduate students are working on MPC research projects under the tutelage of faculty researchers. These graduate students represent the researchers and technical analysts of tomorrow. Without the MPC program and the stipend funds that it provides, these students may not be specializing in transportation; but, instead would be seeking career opportunities in other fields. The MPC research program allows faculty to mentor graduate students while allowing the students to work on projects for federal and state transportation agencies—thereby, gaining valuable practical experience.
Technical changes The parties agree to make any technical changes that are mutually agreed prior to the going out for ratification. The parties on signing this document acknowledge, subject to any subsequent agreed editorial and technical changes, that this reflects the agreements reached in the settlement of the Primary Principals’ Collective Agreement 2019-2022. DESCRIPTION OF THE WORKS Employer’s objectives The scope of the request includes the recommended monthly preventative, quarterly and annual maintenance that needs to be conducted to ensure all areas of the airports are lit and compliant. It will include all the other adhoc request (labor rates) where required upon approval by the maintenance manager. The compliance will be based on the following: • Maintenance as per OEM • Organizational guidelines and codes of practice • OHS act 93 – Occupational Health and Safety • ISO 9001 – Quality management • ISO 14001 – Environmental Management • SANS 10142 – The wiring code • ICAO Annex 14 chapter 5. • ACSA Maintenance Procedure D060 024M This scope entails the maintenance and repair of LV systems and all lighting at Costal airports. In brief, maintenance involves servicing, repairs, and testing of lights and LV systems. This involves carrying out maintenance on electrical equipment such as LV DBs, electrical plant, wiring enclosures and luminaires and associated control systems, portable appliances and other specific electrical equipment, in order to minimize downtime, and ensure that the equipment performs at optimal levels and functions to specification at the specified areas. Servicing - performing routine preventive maintenance as prescribed by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), ACSA’s planned maintenance routines, and applicable legal and design standards. Repairs – responding to breakdowns, callouts and restoring the equipment to safe working conditions on an as and when basis. Advisory – telephonically guiding airport electricians under emergency situations to ensure systems are safely shutdown or returned to service within stringent times. System Performance Test – Testing equipment performance against the OEM, ACSA, and statutory requirements for compliance and return to service purposes. Extent of the works The Contractor will be fully responsible for meeting all requirements in this document regarding the Works. For each piece of equipment, all work will be carried out to standards as required by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) as well as any applicable governing law and/or regulations. Where OEM standards differ from those required by this document the more stringent requirement shall apply. The Contractor will be fully responsible for obtaining (and keeping up to date with) said requirements. The proposed minimum scheduled maintenance activities can be found in annex H.
Innovation In order to make it easier for the municipality to implement innovations that can accelerate the pace of climate transition, Viable Cities will provide a competence network and process support, including by engaging other strategic innovation programmes in the ongoing development of Climate City Contract 2030, particu- larly in the areas of mobility, energy, built environment, the circular economy, health and digitalization. Based on the collaboration agreement on climate-smart mobility signed with the strategic innovation programme Drive Sweden, this area of collabo- ration will be further developed with both cities and government agencies, not least the Swedish Transport Administration.
