Common use of Records Management and Retention Clause in Contracts

Records Management and Retention. The Contractor (and/or any subcontractor) shall maintain all information in accordance with Executive Order 13556 -- Controlled Unclassified Information, National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) records retention policies and schedules and HHS/NIH policies and shall not dispose of any records unless authorized by HHS/NIH. In the event that a contractor (and/or any subcontractor) accidentally disposes of or destroys a record without proper authorization, it shall be documented and reported as an incident in accordance with HHS/NIH policies.
