Common use of Reduced Schedule Leave Clause in Contracts

Reduced Schedule Leave. An Employee requesting intermittent or reduced schedule leave for a personal serious health condition or serious health condition of a family member as described in Sections 1 and 2 may be required to temporarily transfer to an available alternative position of equivalent pay and benefits which better accommodates recurring periods of leave. Such a leave shall require certification indicting that there is a medical need for the leave on the basis requested, the expected duration and schedule of intermittent or reduced schedule leave, and in the case of a family member, that the leave on the basis requested is necessary to care for or assist the family member.
