Reemployment of Employees on Disability Retirement. A. Employees retired for physical disability who are interested in pursuing reemployment with the County will be advised to contact the Orange County Employees Retirement System (OCERS) to determine the impact of reemployment on their disability retirement benefits. B. Employees retired for physical disability who contacted and received advice from OCERS under subsection A above, who within two (2) years from the date of retirement or date their disability retirement is discontinued, request and qualify for positions in the County service shall be placed on the County Preferred Eligible List with respect to such positions. They will be placed on such list in chronological order of retirement but following the last person on layoff status. They will remain on such list for a period of two (2) years from date of retirement, or date their disability retirement is discontinued, except that: 1. a person appointed to a regular position in the County service shall be removed from the list; 2. a person who, on two (2) separate occasions, rejects or fails to respond within three
