Regular Overtime. 1. The City will compensate eligible employees for all overtime worked at a rate of time and one-half the employee's hourly rate of pay. Overtime shall be paid for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week. Authorization of the employee's supervisor must be obtained prior to the working of overtime, except in emergency situations. Compensation for overtime shall be in the form of cash payment or, if requested by the employee and approved by the concerned department head, compensatory time off. For purposes of overtime calculations, only vacation leave, sick leave, holiday leave, bereavement leave, and jury duty shall be counted as hours worked. 2. Leave time not counted for purposes of calculating regular, voluntary overtime shall include, but not be limited to, administrative leave, military leave, disciplinary leave (including suspensions with pay), and all forms of disability leave including Injury on Duty (IOD)/Workers' Compensation, Short Term Disability (STD), and Long Term Disability (LTD) leaves.
