Regularly Scheduled Overtime. 1. The University will rotate regularly scheduled overtime opportunities among qualified employees in a segment or venue who normally perform the work that is being assigned for overtime and shall offer overtime as soon as it is aware of the need for overtime. Hours worked outside but contiguous to the normal work shift will be credited to the scheduled overtime roster. The roster will not be run for such hours if sufficient employees are on site to complete the job.
2. The overtime roster will be utilized in all situations where Management knows of the overtime opportunity more than four (4) hours in advance.
3. The University agrees to post and maintain overtime rosters in a place accessible to all employees, and to update the rosters after each overtime assignment. Said rosters shall be posted and will include a list of overtime hours worked and refused with overtime awarded to the employee within the segment or venue who, on the roster, has the fewest aggregate hours worked and refused. If an employee on a shift is offered overtime on another shift solely for the purpose of equalizing overtime, the “call in pay” provision does not apply with respect to this Article.
4. An employee who is not available for overtime (on temporary assignment outside the segment/department, on temporary assignment outside the Bargaining Unit, or on leave for more than two (2) weeks) will be charged on the overtime equalization list as if the employee was asked but refused overtime. However, if the employee is on temporary assignment outside the segment/department or on leave for less than two weeks, the employee will not be charged on the overtime equalization list unless the employee was contacted and refused the overtime. In such cases, the University is not obligated to make an offer of overtime.
5. An employee who is offered but refuses an overtime assignment shall be credited as if the employee had worked the overtime for purposes of equalization. (Employee must accept or reject an overtime assignment within 15 minutes of the offer). If an employee is unreachable at the phone number on file with their segment and/or venue, they will be skipped and the opportunity will be offered to the next person on the roster. In the event the employee is unreachable, they will not be credited with working the overtime, nor will they be considered to have been missed for purposes of this article. Regularly Scheduled Overtime. Regularly scheduled overtime shall be defined as one of the following: - regular overtime that occurs before production for the purpose of set-up, pre-op, condensation and knife cages to a maximum of one and a half (1½) hours - regular overtime that occurs after production for the purpose of post-op and clearing the floor to a maximum of one and a half (1½) hours Regular overtime that occurs before production will be offered by seniority and department to employees who normally work the dayshift. Regular overtime that occurs after production will be offered by seniority and department to employees who normally work the evening or night shifts. In the event that there are not enough volunteers to perform the regular overtime either before or after production, the most junior employee(s), subject to Article 6.01, in the department, on the shift, in increasing order of seniority, who have the ability and qualifications to perform the work, shall then do the required work, but no employee shall be required to work an unreasonable amount of overtime. All regular overtime, either before production, or after production will be offered by canvassing the appropriate employees by midnight on Wednesday for the following week. The Company will notify employees if they have been chosen by the method above as soon as possible, but in no event later than midnight on Thursday for the following week.
Regularly Scheduled Overtime. (a) Regularly scheduled overtime will mean overtime for which at least eight (8) hours’ notice has been given. Regularly scheduled overtime will be voluntary.
(b) Regularly scheduled overtime will first be offered by seniority on a rotational basis to qualified employees within the applicable department. If no one is available within the department, or too few employees accept, the overtime will be offered by seniority, on a rotational basis, to qualified employees outside the department.
Regularly Scheduled Overtime. For overtime which is regularly scheduled prior to the beginning of a shift, or after the start of a shift, for the purpose of maintaining minimum staffing requirements as may be adopted by the Department, the rate of pay for all hours worked shall be one and one-half (1½) times the fire fighter's fifty-three (53) hour rate of pay. If a fire fighter is recalled to work on his/her days off due to a staff shortage and then is not needed for purposes of minimum staffing the fire fighter will be reassigned to other collateral duties and paid a minimum of two (2) hours of overtime pay at the fire fighter's fifty-three (53) hour rate of pay.
