Rehabilitation, Modified Duties and Work Accommodation. (i) It is the mutual desire of the parties to assist in the rehabilitation of ill/injured/disabled employees and to ensure their return to meaningful employment and the resumption of an active role in the workplace. The City acknowledges that it has a legal obligation to provide work accommodation in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and WSIB policies. (ii) When required by the employee, the City or the Union, the City shall ensure that the employee is represented by a Union representative in meetings with City staff to discuss a modified work assignment. In all cases, the City shall ensure that the Union is informed in advance of modified work assignments.
