Common use of Rejection of Probation Clause in Contracts

Rejection of Probation. An employee may be rejected at any time during the probationary period by the City Manager without cause and without the right to appeal or to submit a grievance. An employee rejected during the probationary period following a promotional appointment shall be reinstated to the position from which the employee was promoted or to a comparable position, at no less than the rate of pay received prior to the promotion, unless charges are filed and he/she is discharged in the manner provided in Chapter 11 of the Personnel Policies.
