Common use of Religious Diets/Alternate Entrée Clause in Contracts

Religious Diets/Alternate Entrée. The Facility’s Chaplain shall have the authority under the Florida Administrative Code to approve and facilitate religious diets. Except in rare circumstances, requirements for religious diets are met by the Master Menu through the alternate entree program, vegan meal pattern or the Certified Food Option (CFO). A non-meat protein source is designated on each daily menu as an alternate to the main entree. Any inmate may choose between either the main entree or the designated alternate. An Inmate Request, form DC6-236, is submitted to the Food Service Director to request the vegan meal pattern and to the Chaplain to request the CFO. CONTRACTOR shall provide the On-Site Contract Monitor with an updated list monthly of all inmates at the facility receiving a religious diet. Additional documentation may be required upon review of the monthly report.
