Common use of Repetitive Strain Injury Clause in Contracts

Repetitive Strain Injury. (a) The Parties agree that there is a shared interest in minimizing and or eliminating work related strain injuries or illnesses. (b) The Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee shall, in the performance of regular worksite inspections, identify the following risk factors which may contribute to risk: (1) the work methods and practices (2) the layout and condition of the workplace and workstation (3) the characteristics of objects or equipment handled (4) the environmental conditions (5) the physical demands of work (c) Where new equipment will be introduced to the workplace, or during the design and planning stages of new or renovated workplaces or workstations, the Employer shall seek the appropriate advice with respect to the risk factors noted in Clause 25.15(b). Such advice will be sought from resources which will, where appropriate, include a joint occupational health and safety committee or designated safety representatives.
