Requesting a Substitute. (a) Unit members in the ESL, High School Diploma, and Adults with Disabilities program must notify their immediate supervisor in advance of taking sick leave whenever possible in order that other arrangements may be made for the services needed. Unit members in all other Adult Education programs will reschedule classes missed and/or secure a substitute in consultation with the Program Supervisor.

Unit members who request time off work in advance will work with XXXX to secure qualified substitutes from the current substitute pool. Five Keys and unit members are currently working together to find an automated sub system. Once that system is decided upon and implemented, no later than November 1, 2017, a new procedure will be established in accordance with that system. This procedure will be documented as a side letter until the next contract negotiations.

  • Long Term Substitute A substitute who remains in a single assignment of forty-five (45) or more consecutive workdays.

  • PRODUCT SUBSTITUTION In the event a specified manufacturer’s Product listed in the Contract becomes unavailable or cannot be supplied by the Contractor for any reason (except as provided for in the Savings/Force Majeure Clause) a Product deemed in writing by the Commissioner to be equal to or better than the specified Product must be substituted by the Contractor at no additional cost or expense to the Authorized User.   • Long-Term Substitutes Long-term substitutes are defined as teachers hired to fill the temporary vacancy of a teacher on leave in the same assignment for more than sixty (60) days. The employment of long-term substitutes shall automatically expire at the end of the period of substitution or upon return to duty of the teacher from an approved leave of absence without any action by the Board or further notice to the teacher.

  • Right to Refuse to Cross Picket Lines All employees covered by this Agreement shall have the right to refuse to cross a picket line arising out of a dispute as defined in the Labour Relations Code of British Columbia. Any employee failing to report for duty shall be considered to be absent without pay. Failure to cross a picket line encountered in carrying out the Employer's business shall not be considered a violation of this Agreement nor shall it be grounds for disciplinary action.

  • Temporary Transfer Where an employee is assigned temporarily to perform the duties and assume the responsibilities of a higher paying position in the bargaining unit, he shall be paid the rate in the higher salary range immediately above his current rate for all hours worked in the higher paying position. Where a Hospital temporarily assigns an employee to carry out the assigned responsibilities of a classification outside the bargaining unit, the employee shall receive an allowance of $4.00 for each shift from the time of the assignment.
