Resident Educator Program. A four-year program created and required by state law that is designed to provide newly licensed educators quality mentoring and guidance. Successful completion is required to advance to a five-year professional educator license.
Resident Educator Program. A. The Resident Educator Program for beginning teachers licensed after January 1, 2011, is for the purpose of providing educators with coaching, mentoring and guidance that are critical to improving their skills and knowledge and student achievement. The Resident Educator Program will be a program administered and funded by the Board. This program shall be separate from and shall not replace the employee evaluation system.
Resident Educator Program. A Resident Educator Program shall be implemented in accordance with the Teacher Education and Licensure Standards, the guidelines and standards established by the Ohio Department of Education, all applicable laws and rules and with the provisions of this section. A Resident Educator Mentor shall be assigned to each newly hired teacher employed under a four (4) year resident educator license. The purpose of this program is to provide assistance in enhancing teaching skills and give support for professional development.
Resident Educator Program. A program of support provided by the Board, pursuant to the rules adopted by the Ohio Department of Education, to meet the unique needs of a Resident Educator who holds a Resident Educator license. The Resident Educator Program is four (4) academic years in length. When a Resident Educator is employed after the beginning of the school year, the Resident Educator Program shall be a minimum of one hundred twenty (120) school days plus the remaining three (3) academic years required by the Ohio Department of Education (ODE). Resident Educators must renew their registration annually.
