Responsibility for Teacher Appraisal. a. The principal of each school is responsible for the appraisal of professional staff members assigned to his/her building. In carrying out this responsibility, principals may involve assistant principals or designated administrators. It must be stressed, however, that the building principal is ultimately responsible for the teacher appraisal of all his/her teachers and must therefore retain a high degree of involvement which will allow him/her to make an intelligent judgment in each case.
