Common use of RETURN AFTER INJURY Clause in Contracts

RETURN AFTER INJURY. Whenever an Employee who has been off work as a result of a work connected injury or illness is released by his doctor to return to work, his Employer shall return the Employee to his former job if in operation or to the first available job for which he is qualified. Whenever an Employee who has been off work as a result of a non-work connected illness or injury is released by his doctor to return to work, the Employer shall either return the Employee to his former job or place him on the first available job for which he is qualified. The Employee thereby displaced may be terminated without violation of this Agreement. The terminated Employee upon re-registration within seventy-two (72) hours excluding Saturdays, Sundays and holidays after termination shall be reinstated to the position on the registration list occupied by him at the time of his previous dispatch.
