Riding Heat Sink. The riding heat sink and host cage top surface designs given in the latest published CFP4 baseline drawing are only exemplary and are not required for compliance with the CFP4 MSA. Cage opening and heat sink specifications vary with host system design and thermal performance requirements. The heat sink/cage designs are therefore host system dependent and may be optimized by the system designer. The riding heat sink illustrated in Figure 5-8 is for example only. The recommended material for the heat sink is aluminum. Figure 5-8: Riding Heat Sink The mounting dimensions for the Riding Heat Sink are shown below in Figure 5-9.
