Rights While on Uncompensated Non-Medical Leave. In the event that the Family/Medical Leave Act does not apply or is exhausted then employees may request and have the right to continue, at the employee’s expense, to be covered by the insurance for hospitalization, surgical benefits and major medical providing the insurance company or hospital service association involved permit such continuance of coverage of the person on uncompensated medical leave. Payment for such coverage shall be made to the Treasurer for the Board on or before the 5th of each month.
