Rough Carpentry. Install all wood studs, furring, blocking, nailers, backing, and hardware as required. All wood contacting concrete or masonry surfaces is to be pressure treated. Provide rough hardware, nails, bolts, fasteners, anchors and connectors as required to complete the Work. Provide backboard material for mounting of utility equipment as may be required.
Rough Carpentry. Provide rough carpentry as required for use with other work. Provide fire-resistance treated wood for all interior locations.
Rough Carpentry. Without limiting the generality of this agreement this sub-contractor is to “SUPPLY ALL” necessary labour, materials, equipment, tools, transport, insurance’s, (permits if required), etc. to carry out and complete the above works on the project. In accordance with plans and specification provided, municipal requirements, CMHC, and any other governing authority have jurisdiction, as and when required by Site Superintendent, and including but not limited to the following:
Rough Carpentry. Rough carpentry covers timber structural framing for roof, flooring, siding, partition and ceiling.
Rough Carpentry. Shall consist of fully milled board construction, wood framing, nailers, roof sheathing, roof structure, and roof hardware. All non- removable erection marks on fabricated lumber shall be located so it is hidden from view in the completed work. Use of damaged lumber shall not be allowed. Store on-site lumber above ground and protected from damage and weathering. Unless otherwise specified, nails shall be driven with just sufficient force to set the heads flush to the surface of the wood. Nails shall be predrilled to 50% of length where splitting is likely to occur. All corner notches and/or joints shall be tight, structurally solid, and without gaps. Each course of the corner logs shall be consistent in appearance. Treated lumber shall be handled carefully without dropping, breaking of outer fibers, or bruising or penetrating the surface with tools. Minor field repairs, cut ends, and drilled holes shall be brush coated to saturate with end cut preservative. Holes for machine bolts shall be bored with a bit 1/16 inch larger than the diameter of the bolt. Hole for lag screws shall be bored with a bit the same diameter and length as the unthreaded body. Holes for all thread may be drilled ¼ inch larger for ease of alignment. A pilot hole shall be drilled using a drill bit not larger than the diameter of the screw at the root of the thread for full depth of thread penetration. Bolt, screw heads, washers. and nuts shall be zinc plated or galvanized. Counter sinking shall be done between logs and wherever smooth faces are required. Recesses formed for countersinking shall be brushed with end cut preservative to saturate prior to bolt or screw placement. Minimum nailing schedules shall be designed by the Contractor and shall conform to the IBC or engineering calculations. Use box nails for rough carpentry unless otherwise noted.
Rough Carpentry. The following assumptions further define the scope of work and value as indicated in the documents listed below.
