Sabbatical Leave for Professional Study. Leaves will be granted under this provision only if the proposed program of study (1) relates to the subject area of the unit member's primary assignment; (2) makes an outstanding improvement to the applicant's service to the District; and/or (3) prepares an applicant for teaching in areas of identified District need. Professional study is enrollment in a recognized institution of higher learning in the classification of a full- or part-time student.
