Salary Schedule Progression. Employees in this unit who have not yet reached the maximum of their grade shall be advanced to the next higher step of their grade upon the completion of each year of service which satisfactorily meets performance standards. Once the HRMS system has the capability, merit increases earned as set forth above shall be effective on the employee’s anniversary date. Any grievance arising from the denial of a merit step increase shall not be arbitrable under this Agreement, but shall be handled pursuant to existing procedures.
