Schematic Design Approval. The Design Professional shall, on the Preliminary Design and Construction Schedule, show the progress to date, confirm the remainder of the design portion of the schedule, and update the projected construction portion of the schedule, The Design Professional shall meet with the Owner and Using Agency for the purpose of presenting and reviewing the Schematic Design including the updated schedule and the initial Statement of Probable Construction Cost. The Design Professional shall obtain the written approval of the Owner of the Schematic Design Phase before proceeding with the next phase.
Schematic Design Approval. The Professional shall meet with the Department for the purpose of presenting and reviewing the schematic design documents including an updated Project Schedule and the Statement of Probable Construction Cost. The Professional shall respond in writing to all Department comments to the satisfaction of the Department before the schematic design submission is considered approved. Once the Department approves the schematic design submission, the Professional shall not change any of the approved schematic design documents with its submission of any subsequent submission without the Department’s approval.
Schematic Design Approval. The Project Management Contractor shall use its best efforts to cause the design consultant to revise the schematic design so that it reflects the comments received from the Client Agency, the Department and to reflect any approved value engineering ideas. The Project Management Contractor shall review the revised schematic design and advise the Department whether the requested changes and value engineering changes have been incorporated. The Project Management Contractor shall not have the authority to approve the schematic design. The decision to approve or reject the revised schematic design shall be made by the DGS Project Manager. The approved schematic design is referred to herein as the “Final Schematic Design”. The Project Management Contractor shall update the Control Budget to reflect the likely cost of the Final Schematic Design.
Schematic Design Approval. As part of the Service A 10% Schematic Review Submittal, the Designer shall furnish the Owner an estimate of project cost based upon the Service A 10% Review Submittal. The approval of project cost estimate and the Service A 10% Review Submittal by the Owner and all public agencies involved will constitute authority for the Designer to proceed with the performance and completion of Service B.
