Design Development Documents. In accordance with the approved Preliminary Design and Construction Schedule and based upon approval of and comments made by the Owner regarding the Schematic Design Documents, the Design Professional shall prepare and submit to the Owner the Design Development Documents. (See ASTM Standard Practice E 1804-02, August 2007, Sections 6.4, 8.2 and 8.3 for guidance on information which is generally developed in Design Development Documents.) The Design Development Documents shall consist of a Site Plan, building plans, floor plans, sections, elevations, typical construction details, equipment layouts, and other drawings and outline specifications. These documents will fix and illustrate the size and character of the entire Project in its essentials, including but not limited to kinds of materials, criteria and sizing of major components, equipment sizes and capacities, approximate layouts including required spaces for clearances, type of structure, grade elevations, sidewalks, utilities, roads, parking areas, mechanical and electrical systems. The Design Professional shall also prepare Outline Specifications giving basic descriptions of essential components of all systems. The Outline Specifications shall identify major materials and systems and establish in general their quality levels. Upon the request of the Owner, the Design Professional shall furnish to the Owner perspective illustrations, physical models, and 3-D computer models at a specified size. Such illustrations and models shall be performed as an Additional Service to this Contract and shall be compensated at the rates shown in Exhibit A and Article 4.1.3, Reimbursable Expenses.

Facility engineering/sustainability and equipment standards illustrating the design intent (such as ASHRAE standard 90.l, LEED, and the like) should also be indicated. The Outline Specifications shall identify major materials and systems and establish in general their quality levels. Upon the request of the Owner, the Design Professional shall furnish to the Owner perspective illustrations, physical models, and 3-D computer models at a specified size. Such illustrations and models shall be performed as an Additional Service to this Contract and shall be compensated at the rates shown in Exhibit A and Article 4.1.3, Reimbursable Expenses.

Design Development Documents. Upon receipt of written authorization to proceed and based on the approved Schematic Design Documents and comments from HISD and the PM and any adjustments authorized by HISD in the Project Scope, Schedule, or Construction Budget, the A/E shall prepare, for approval by HISD and the PM, Design Development Documents consisting of drawings, outline specifications, and other documents to fix and describe the size and character of the Project as to architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, materials and such other elements as may be appropriate. The Design Development Documents shall comply with the requirements of the PPR, Educational Facility Specifications, and HISD Design Standards. The documents shall be provided to the PM and HISD for review. The Design Development Documents must be approved in writing by the PM and HISD before being deemed acceptable.
Design Development Documents. As further described in the Scope of Work, and in any further adjustments in the scope or quality of the Project authorized in writing by Owner, by the date specified in the Project Schedule, Contractor will prepare, for written approval by Owner, design development documents for the Project consisting of drawings, models, specifications, plans and other documents necessary to fix and describe the Project with respect to the civil engineering, structural, instrumentation, control, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, acoustical and life safety systems to be incorporated therein (collectively, the “Design Development Documents”). As part of the development of the Design Development Documents, Contractor will propose to Owner, for Owner’s review and approval, the list of systems that will be the subject of the as-built drawings submitted to the Owner pursuant to Section 2.3.4(d).

Design Development Documents. Design Development Documents has the meaning given in the A/E Contract for the Project.
Design Development Documents. In accordance with the City’s zoning and planning procedures, Developer, at its cost and expense, shall submit to City for its review, if requested or required, the Design Development Documents for the Project.
Design Development Documents. Within six (6) months following receipt of final site plan approval by the Zoning Commission (subject to Excusable Delays), Redeveloper shall submit design development documents to the Agency, the Finance Director and the Design Review Consultant for their review. Unless a material modification to the Plans is being requested in connection therewith, the design development documents shall be prepared in substantial conformance in all material respects with the Plans and the Redevelopment Plan Design Guidelines. Upon their submission as aforesaid, Redeveloper shall submit to the Agency and the Finance Director (with a copy to the Design Review Consultant) either a statement jointly from and jointly certified by, the Redeveloper and Redeveloper’s Architect that the design development documents substantially conform in all material respects to the Plans and the Redevelopment Plan Design Guidelines or a summary memorandum from the Redeveloper (and marked up drawings, where feasible) identifying the manner in which such design development documents do not so substantially conform (a “deviation”) and a request that the Agency and the City approve such deviations. If such deviation does not involve a Substantial Change, then the City and the Agency shall, within thirty (30) days (forty-five (45) days if progress prints have not been so submitted) after their receipt, notify the Redeveloper in writing whether or not the submission is complete and whether or not any of the design development documents so submitted are approved and, if disapproved, the detailed reasons therefor (any such notice, a “DDD Determination Notice”). A DDD Determination Notice shall also be issued by the City and the Agency within such time period with respect to such design development documents that substantially conform in all material respects to the Plans and the Redevelopment Plan Design Guidelines. Failure to deliver a DDD Determination Notice within such time period shall constitute deemed approval by the Agency and the City of such design development documents for all purposes other than a Substantial Change. If the design development documents so submitted involve a Substantial Change, the process set forth in Section 11.8 shall apply (but any such review under Section 11.8 with respect to a modification request involving a Substantial Change shall occur concurrently with review under this Section
