Second Step of the Grievance Procedure. The Union may appeal the decision of the Fire Chief or designee by presenting a written appeal to the Chief Administrative Officer or his/her designee within fourteen (14) calendar days of the Union's receipt of the Fire Chief’s or designee’s decision. The Chief Administrative Officer or designee and representatives of the bargaining unit shall meet to discuss the grievance within fourteen (14) calendar days after presentation of the appeal to the Chief Administrative Officer. The Chief Administrative Officer or designee shall respond, in writing, to the grievance within thirty (30) calendar days of the meeting.
