Section 6 - Bereavement Leave. When a death occurs in the immediate family of the unit 9 member, or the death is any person or persons living in the immediate household of the unit 10 member, the employee shall be entitled to three (3) days paid leave of absence for bereavement. 11 This leave shall be extended, upon request of the employee, to a period not to exceed five (5) 12 days if round-trip travel of six hundred (600) or more miles is required to attend or arrange for 13 the funeral. Bereavement Leave shall be exhausted before the unit member may utilize 14 personal necessity/personal business leave under Section 5 of the Agreement.
