Paid Sick Leave. For those jurisdictions that have passed or will pass legislation requiring Paid Sick Leave, Paid Sick Time will be billed back to Client at the straight-time bill rate for all hours taken by any Consultant assigned to Client. This section is not applicable until the effective date of such legislation has been reached.
Paid Sick Leave. The Employee shall be entitled to 5 days per year as sick leave with full pay. Such sick leave can be accumulated up to a total of 10 days or without limitation.
Paid Sick Leave. 13.2.1 Sick Leave is authorized absence of a unit member because of illness, injury or exposure to contagious disease.
13.2.2 Every unit member in a permanent, probationary, or restricted status shall earn one (1) day sick leave for each month worked in a fiscal year. Unused sick leave may be accumulated without limit.
13.2.3 At the beginning of each fiscal year (July 1st), the sick leave “bank” of the unit member shall be increased by the number of days of paid sick leave which he/she would normally earn in that fiscal year. A unit member’s sick leave “bank” shall be adjusted if a change of assignment alters the amount of sick leave earnable.
13.2.4 Sick leave may be taken at any time, provided that new unit members with probationary status may use only six days of paid sick leave during their initial probationary periods.
13.2.5 Pay for any day of sick leave shall be the same pay the unit member would have received if he/she had worked that day, except as provided by Education Code section 45137 for part-time personnel.
13.2.6 In order to receive compensation while absent on sick leave, the unit member must notify his/her supervisor of his/her absence within the first (1st) work hour of the first (1st) day absent, unless conditions make notification impossible. The burden of proof of impossible conditions shall be upon the unit member.
13.2.7 At least one (1) day prior to his/her expected return to work the unit member shall notify his/her supervisor in order that any substitute employee may be terminated. If the unit member fails to notify his/her supervisor and both the unit member and the substitute report, the substitute is entitled to the assignment, and the unit member shall not receive pay for that day.
13.2.8 A unit member absent for more than five (5) workdays shall be required to present a signed statement from the attending health care provider stating that the unit member was unable to work due to illness or disability and the inclusive period of illness or disability, to his/her Department head. If absence due to illness is longer than ten (10) workdays, a medical release signed by the attending health care provider, must be submitted to the Department head upon return to work.

Paid Sick Leave. The parties to this agreement hereby expressly waive the provisions of the City of Seattle Ordinance 123698, requiring paid sick leave, City of Tacoma Ordinance 28275 requiring paid leave, and/or any city, state or county ordinance, rule or regulation granting paid sick leave to the employees under the jurisdiction of this Agreement, assuming that said ordinance, rule or regulation allows for such a waiver. The parties will collaborate to prevent further such provisions from being adopted by political entities within the jurisdiction of this agreement.
Paid Sick Leave. Overtime-eligible, represented individuals will accrue and may use paid sick leave in accordance with the Employer’s policy. Accrued paid sick leave will not exceed eight (8) hours per month.
Paid Sick Leave. 14.8.1 Paid sick leave is the authorized absence of an employee because of illness, injury, medical or dental appointment, or as expressly guaranteed within this article. Employees shall earn sick leave at the rate of one (day) per month of full-time service. For employees who work a full academic year (approx. 180 days), those employees will be entitled to 10 sick days (pro-rated for part-time workers as per Article 14.8.2 below).
14.8.2 In order to qualify for sick leave credit, an employee must work at least sixteen (16) days in a calendar month. If the employee does not use the full amount of sick leave in any school year, the number of days not used shall be accumulated from year to year, with no limit to accumulation. Part-time employees shall be entitled to sick leave in the same proportion as the ratio of hours worked daily is to an eight-hour day. If employment is separated, no compensation will be paid for unused sick leave. The unused sick leave shall be reinstated, as a condition of employment should the employee return to work, as a regular classified employee, within thirty-nine (39) months of separation. Annual sick leave accounts will be issued at the beginning of each fiscal year.
14.8.3 At the beginning of each fiscal year, the sick leave “bank” of the employee shall be increased by the number of days paid sick leave which he/she would normally earn in the ensuing fiscal year. An employee’s sick leave “bank” shall be adjusted if a change of assignment alters the amount of leave earnable.
14.8.4 Sick leave may be taken at any time of illness or injury except that employees on probationary status may not exceed one (1) day sick leave for each month of service. Donation of Sick Leave - To be eligible for a donation of sick leave, an employee must meet the following criteria:
14.8.4.1 Definition of a catastrophic injury or illness defined as: any injury or illness which incapacitates a member of the employee’s immediate family for an extended period of time after exhausting all accumulated sick leave and based upon competent medical evidence.
14.8.4.2 File appropriate Request for Donation of sick leave with the District’s Personnel Department. Upon notification to the Personnel Department, CSEA will distribute the request to the CSEA members.
14.8.4.3 An employee may donate one (1) day of sick leave per request. Donation of sick leave shall not exceed a total of one hundred twenty (120) days including accumulated sick leave. Only one request ...
Paid Sick Leave. Employees covered by this Agreement shall earn and be granted sick leave of absence with pay under the following conditions and qualifications.
(a) For purposes of this section, a “day” equals the number of hours in an employee’s regular schedule for that year. Full-time employees shall be credited with one (1) sick leave day per month of months worked for a total of up to twelve (12). School year employees will be credited one (1) sick leave day per month of months worked for a total of nine (9) days.
(b) Employees may utilize accrued paid sick leave when they are unable to work due to illness, injury, or other disability. Disability associated with pregnancy, miscarriage, abortion or childbirth shall be treated as any other disability. Employees may also use accrued paid sick leave for the following purposes:
1. Personal physical or mental examination and dental appointments scheduled with a physician when it is not possible to schedule these appointments or laboratory tests outside of the school day or outside the workweek. An employee has an obligation to schedule these appointments outside of the workday whenever it is possible to do so.
2. When a physician prescribes a physical or mental examination or there is need for an emergency dental appointment or lab tests for the employee’s spouse or children that can be scheduled only during the workday and the nature of the emergency requires the need for the employee to accompany their spouse or child during the duration of the appointment. An employee has an obligation to schedule these appointments outside of the workday whenever it is possible to do so.
3. In situations of serious illness involving spouse, children, father, mother, sister, brother, grandparents or grandchildren of the employee or his spouse, the number of days necessary to handle the emergency is granted. It is assumed that the employee will resume work as early as the emergency situation can be remedied with the cooperation and aid of other family members, or in long term illness, with assistance from an outside agency. Every fourteen (14) days the situation will be reevaluated.
(c) An employee shall notify the Employer of the need to utilize paid sick leave as far in advance as possible. If the Employer has reason to believe that an employee is abusing paid sick leave or is on sick leave for more than five (5) consecutive sick leave days, the Employer may require as a condition of the paid sick leave a physician’s certificate setting...
Paid Sick Leave. 1. Effective January 1, 2014, the Company agrees to provide STD benefits for all regular full-time employees on a non-contributory basis. Regular part-time, temporary, or occasional employees are not eligible for STD benefits. The administration of STD leaves, including the application process and timelines, eligibility rules, notice requirements, return to work rights, and modified duty programs will be governed by the CenturyLink Disability Plan (the “Plan”). Employees qualify for STD benefits when they are participants who cannot work at their normal job due to an illness or injury incurred off the job, and satisfy the requirements as outlined in this Article but subject to the terms of the Plan which control and govern. STD benefits begin on the 8th consecutive calendar day (sixth consecutive scheduled workday) of non-occupational illness or injury for participants. Written medical certification shall be required.
2. PTO hours are provided for all incidental absences from work and for the first five (5) consecutive scheduled workdays of a non-occupational disability related absence (STD waiting period) unless it is considered a relapse illness as defined in the Plan document. The employee must use all available PTO before hours can be taken unpaid. If an employee does not have available PTO, those hours for which PTO are not available shall be non-paid. If employment is involuntarily terminated due to reasons including but not limited to reduction in work force, plant/office closure, etc., while the employee is receiving STD benefits under the Plan, the employee may continue to receive benefits until the earlier of either the Plan’s benefits are exhausted, the employee fails to comply with the Plan’s STD administrative requirements or the employee’s doctor (or the IME doctor) states and the Plan agrees that the employee can return to work. If employment is involuntarily terminated for just cause, STD benefits may be terminated immediately.
3. The Plan Administrator may suspend or deny STD benefits if the employee fails to submit all forms/documentation as required, fails to comply with a Company request for an IME, or fails to comply with the requirements of the STD Plan. The Plan Administrator may require such physical or other professional examinations from healthcare providers in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act and/or any other applicable law or regulations as well as when an employee is claiming...
Paid Sick Leave. Employees covered by this Agreement shall earn and be granted sick leave of absence with pay under the following conditions and qualifications: Paid sick leave will be earned by full-time employees at the rate of one (1) day per month of employment per year. Part-time employees shall receive a prorated sick leave accrual based upon the ratio of their regularly scheduled hours to that of a full-time employee. New employees hired during a school year will receive prorated sick leave based upon the ratio of their days of employment to the number of days in a full school year. Paid sick leave will be credited to the use of employees on the first scheduled day of work each school year.
Paid Sick Leave.
