Selection Based on Scores. The superintendent shall total the points for service, education, and performance. The person with the lowest score shall be the person who is released by termination or discharge unless such action would have a serious detrimental effect on the total educational program. in such an event, the superintendent may select a higher scoring person for termination or discharge but shall prepare a written justification for such action in the best interests of the district, along with the rating sheets for such positions. The computations of the superintendent, plus the rating forms on the persons considered for release, shall be available for review by the person released.
