Shift Incentive. A. An employee assigned to work second relief shall receive an application of rate of three (3) percent above his/her regular rate of pay. For the hours of work refer to Article 15.9A.
B. An employee assigned to work third or fourth relief shall receive an application of rate of five (5) percent above his/her regular rate of pay. For the hours of work refer to Article 15.9.
C. These application of rates recognize the increased productivity and performance demands required of the employees while working these hours. It is also intended to be an incentive to increase the experience level of the officers on these shifts.
Shift Incentive. A shift incentive (subject to transition provisions relating to transport allowance below) is paid to employees working on Saturday, Sunday or weekdays between 1800 and 0600. Employees will receive payments for all rostered hours and for overtime hours actually worked that span the incentivised hours. Provided that, where an employee is receiving overtime loading payments, no shift incentive will apply. Part hours attract a pro-rata rate.

The rate of the incentive will be, for Band G/H ($2.52) ($2.65 Oct 2018), ($2.87) ($2.95) and for Band I and J ($3.78) ($3.97 Oct 2018) ($4.29) ($4.42). Part hours attract a pro-rata rate. Shift Incentive. Employees who do shift work and meet the conditions of the article are paid a shift work incentive in the following way. The shift work incentive is paid as a proportion of the paid monthly wages due to the variety and number of shifts during the last three settlement periods, according to scheduled shifts within the obligatory working time. The minimum number of obligatory working hours on that wage period outside of daytime work limits (on a 33.33%, 55%, 65% and 75% bonus) are 126 obligatory working hours. Shifts are grouped into 4 categories; day shifts, evening shifts (33.33% premium), night shifts on weekdays (65% premium) and weekend shifts (55% and 75% premium). Also, the minimum number of obligatory working hours in each shift category shall be 45 obligatory working hours. An employee must work shifts in 2 to 4 categories of shifts, 14 times or more on average in a settlement period, in order to enjoy the shift incentive. When employees begin work, the shift incentive is calculated for one settlement period in the first and second month of employment so that the minimum number of hours outside daytime work limits is 42 and the minimum number of obligatory working hours in each type of shift is 15. After three months of employment, the shift incentive is calculated according to paragraph 1. The same applies when changes in employment percentage of 40% or more, whether an increase or decrease, are agreed upon. Shift Incentive. Employees who do shift work and meet the conditions of the present article shall be paid a shift incentive as follows. A shift incentive shall be paid as a percentage of monthly pay because of the number and variety of shifts scheduled over a pay period within the required number of work hours. The minimum number of work duty hours in each pay period outside of the limits of daytime working hours (at a 33.33%, 55%, 65% and 75% premium) shall be 42 work duty hours. Shifts are classified into four types: daytime shifts, evening shifts (33.33% shift premium), night shifts on business days (65% shift premium) and weekend shifts (55% or 75% shift premium). Furthermore, the minimum number of work duty hours of each shift type shall be 15 work duty hours. To qualify for the shift incentive an employee needs to work two to four types of shifts, 14 or more times. The shift incentive percentage shall be in accordance with the following table.
