Shift Work re: Union Meetings Clause Samples
The "Shift Work re: Union Meetings" clause establishes guidelines for how shift work schedules are managed in relation to union meetings. Typically, this clause outlines whether employees working shifts are permitted to attend union meetings during work hours, and if so, under what conditions, such as providing advance notice or arranging shift coverage. Its core function is to balance the operational needs of the employer with employees' rights to participate in union activities, ensuring that union meetings can occur without unduly disrupting workplace productivity.
Shift Work re: Union Meetings. Afternoon shift employees will be allowed time off, with pay, to attend one (1) Union Meeting per month, excluding Executive Meetings, provided the employee ensures that this shift will be completed and the school building will be ready for the next day's regular activity. Time away will be reported on the monthly absentee sheet. In certain schools designated by the Board, one employee will remain on shift. The application of this clause shall not cause the Board to incur any overtime liability.
